This is a cute and adorable handmade and hand painted chicken bus that is reminiscent of the buses that can be seen driving all over Guatemala loaded down with passengers.  It makes a great gift or a great reminder of daily life in Guatemala.  This little bus measures approximately 2.5 inches long and 2 inches wide.

The wonderful piece is handcrafted by Ceramica Diaz.

Luis Diaz and his assistant, Guillermo, work in a small workshop next to the Diaz home in San Juan Obispo, an “aldea” of Antigua Guatemala.  They are potters in the typical Antigua style, making all kinds of decorative items, hand-painted and varnished.

Delightful Chicken Bus November 7, 2007

I am a huge collector of chicken buses/chivas/tap-tap buses.  The quality of this baby has to be in the top 1% of the 100+ buses I've collected so far.  It is masterfully created and beautiful.  Thank you for a gem.
