| This beautiful Guatemalan passport size bag has a silky look to it and is a marvelous example of Mayan weaving. The bag can hold a lot of things though. Click on the picture above to see an example of the inside. Inside you will find three zippered pockets, four credit card holders and a pen holder. The bag measures approximately 5.75 inches wide and 7 inches high. It closes on the top with a velcro flap. The shoulder cord is 42 inches long end to end.
The Santa Catarina-Nahuala weavers group that made this bag is made up of twenty four Kiche mayan backstrap weavers. The Guatemalan weaving group creates intricate weft brocade weaving using traditional designs representing symbols inspired by nature. |
